Dorf on Schiavo

Michael Dorf has this very good Findlaw piece on the legal aspects of the Schiavo case. In it, he gives attention something that hasn't been much reported, but that folks following the case certainly noticed, that the first complaint filed by Theresa Schiavo's parents contained claims that were much, much, weaker than the claims in the amended complaint. The frivolousness of the first complaint may well have led the courts to be far more skeptical of the amended complaint and give it less attention than perhaps it was due.
