Legal Battle Over Seating at Cinemas Ends

See this article in today's Portland Oregonian. It begins:

Three disabled Oregonians agreed Monday to end their five-year legal fight for a better movie-viewing experience with Regal Entertainment Group.

By dismissing their suit against Regal in federal district court in Portland, the three Oregon women decided to accept the terms of a settlement reached in June between Regal and the Department of Justice.

That settlement forces Regal to make 1,000 of its auditoriums more wheelchair friendly -- and to speed up the process in Portland.

(Disclosure: I helped the plaintiffs keep this case out of the Supreme Court after they won an earlier round in the Ninth Circuit.)
