Netanyahu Objects to Bill Giving Equal Access to Disabled

See this article in Haaretz. Looks like the bill would go a lot farther than the ADA in requiring retrofitting:

Netanyahu estimated the amendment's cost at NIS 4.5 billion, in contrast to the NIS 0.7 billion that the cabinet agreed to cover. He explained that the difference derives from several issues including access to all education institutions within six years, access to all pedestrian steps, passes and junctions within two years, and applying the law to structures whose building permits were issued before 1972.
